This rearing room is used for the maintenance of a single insect species. It is connected to environmental monitoring and alarm systems to warn us of equipment malfunctions before they become too serious. Rearing containers are kept sealed and handling procedures are performed within a class 2 biological safety cabinet in the main work room of the insectarium.
